Future of Network Marketing in India

Dear Readers,

In our pursuit of educating our viewers on the subject of Network marketing/Direct Selling, we are presenting here an article on the future of this industry in India. Please also go through our previous articles we have written about the history of our industry. Though this industry started in India in year 1998 with Amway India, due to lack of clear legal framework it has not reached its maximum potential and has not earned due respect which it deserve. We have miles to go in future and if we build educated Networkers we can count on this nascent Industry.

The Indian direct selling industry is set to touch Rs 7120 crore by 2012-13. By the end of 2009-10, the size of the industry was Rs 4120 crore, growing at a rate of 24 per cent over the previous fiscal. The industry is poised to grow at the rate of 20 per cent per annum till 2012-13, according to a study by Ernst & Young.

South India remains the hub of the direct selling activity followed by west India. Maharashtra has emerged as the number one state for 33 per cent of member companies with West Bengal and the North Eastern states entering the top four states of 47 per cent of member companies.

Future growth in direct selling is expected to continue being driven by the emerging markets in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. With increasing income levels, these emerging markets provide a substantial base of households for direct selling companies to target and thereby drive future growth.

As far as Speak Asia concept of Direct selling is concerned (where there is fixed income combined with referral income) it is very new to our country. When it was launched first by SAOL, its credibility and sustainability was highly questionable. But after the media attack, the way SAOL fought the case it is crystal clear that this model will work in future and has come to stay in India. Once this company comes out of all this mess, Speak Asian's and their family's Financial Freedom is not far way.
